Sabine Ercklentz

Born 1967 in Mönchengladbach, Germany. Studied Law at Freie Universität, Berlin. Graduate from Berlin’s Hanns Eisler University for Music, field of studies: popular music, trumpet. Works as a musician and composer since 1998, mainly in jazz and experimental music.
Since 1995: works with trumpet sounds on the borderline between sound and noise. In addition she use live electronics since 1996 as a means to increase sound possibilities. Since 2002 employment of electronic devices for remixing an independent soundsource. Sabine Ercklentz’s work drawns from tension between improvisation and composition. She has participated in numerous projects, playing jazz in sextet Shoot The Moon and all women jazz bigband United Woman’s Orchestra. She released solo track on compilation Labor/ Sonor CD on Christof Kurzmann’s label Charhizma that presented highly creative contemporary Berlin sound underground and has collaborated for numerous years id duo with Andrea Neumann. She participated in a project 4 Rooms with Christof Kurzmann, Andrea Neumann, Tony Buck and Ana Maria Rodriguez at Donaueschinger Musiktage in 2004. She was also part of different projects in recent years: Rho with Annette Krebs and Margrit Rieben in 1997, had residency at STEIM (Studio for Electro-Instrumental Music) in Amsterdam, “festival für neue musik” Klangwerkstatt, Berlin and played in quartet w Ami Yoshida, Burkhard Beins and Andrea Ermke on UCHIAGE festival in Berlin. She is a member of Les Femmes Savantes with Andrea Neumann, Ana Maria Rodriguez, Ute Wassermann and Hanna Hartman…
